Rip Slyme surfing.
Nevertheless it's been quite uneventful. I may add that I was never a long time Rip Slyme fan and I got into it probably slightly before the Tasogare Surround release. I didn't love them as I do now - possibly because I've usually found it so tiring to keep up with bands nowadays so I give up half the time. But I did sit down and order some Rip Slyme things. The Good Job! Limited edition IS still available via amazon.co.jp for 2,399 yen. I got mine from there and let me tell you. It is worth it. The illustrations may look a little lame but it's just so gorgeous and clean cut and the cover for the CDs is actually embossed (or something like that so you can feel the lines). I don't think I'll be getting the Teriyaki Boyz DVD anytime soon but I am quite interested in it. Though I listened the music, researched the group and all. I didn't have the merchandise. So I ordered the two DVDs, the Good Job! CD and the photobook. I pretty soon forgot I did order it. Lately it's actually arrived (to my surprise) and a lot of my time is just looking through it thorougly. I'll possibly rip some things from the DVD for download.
Though for now, there's just a couple of Rip Slyme scans that I have posted.

MTV - Hotei Vs Rip Slyme [Making of] & VIP Live "Blue Bebop" Downloads

There's a total of 9 clips, you dont need to know japanese completely to enjoy the guys acting goofy in front of and with Hotei.

Hotei smokes a LOT. I'd like to rename him smokey if Kago Ai of W didn't have that smoking scandal going on and could be confused with him. But it's like the first footage you see of him in the studio, he's SMOKING. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some sort of purist who thinks their dream is ruined. It's just when he laughs he gives this sort of "ho ho ho" look and looks like he's really part of the mafia.
One thing that made me sad... Was the lack of Fumiya. I know he'll be back but keeping with the recent Fumiya-less Rip Slyme news really rubs it in. But when Rip Slyme comes in, they do this sort of dorky dance that you feel you gotta love them :D They're probably doing this around Fall-Winter so they're always dressed in beanies, hats, hoodies. Hell Pes wears a beanie and a hoodie. Ryo-Z doesn't look at all 30. Maybe he's got some great skin. In that case he should do anti aging ads. "You could look like me!" On second thoughts, maybe not. Pes looks older than him. Maybe it's the beard. I mean he shaves for most performances or what? It's fun to hear his voice. I mean it helps reassure his female fan base that his voice isn't high when talking :D

They reuse Ilmari's beatboxing skills to add edge to the song. Though if you were a girl watching him do the "ah~", you get a little tingly inside. Half the time, the RS members tend to be sitting on the couch waiting. They get close to the engineers and Hotei and make the jokes.
Some segments are Rip Slyme less and are mostly to do with the ad campaign overall - but it's sort of interesting to watch nonetheless. The engineer says he quite enjoyed being with them~
They have some little background fun things. Such as Su being a bit of a fan of Hotei. Hotei lets the group see his equipment to take photos of. And they go nuts in taking pictures with their mobiles. Fuck that - if I got to see Hotei's stuff I'd ask to TOUCH it. But they just sort of look at it in awe. And what the hell is that weird amplifier box thing? I call it the BOX OF DOOM because it looks like the control panel to the world's atomic bomb.
It's funny how Hotei makes the Rip Slyme kids look younger. Maybe it's the seniority of being in the music business and maybe it's him looking like some sort of pimp. But the way he teases Su for coming back so late, it's like a dad teasing his son. And Su comes back all apologetic like and all. Ryo-Z accidently says Ilmari's line when recording (they re-record their bits maybe to "update" the sound a bit). They all just sort of laugh at his dorkiness. I love how informal they are in this stuff. Though it is business, they still enjoy it. Hotei shows the kids some secret mobile photos. No one knows what they are. Ilmari wears an N.E.R.D. tshirt! He wears some BAPE gear as well at one time. Hotei even says himself that above all, it was pretty fun and everyone had their own beat.
Ilmari drives in for the LIVE Rehearsal. I dont get it. He has a 4WD. Unless he likes going over rocky terrains a lot, HE HAS A FAMILY CAR. And if I were an obsessive fangirl I'd reckon he's got a secret wife somewhere. Ryo-Z's a little late. They never explain why but the way he's rushing is so funny that he runs into the wrong room and greets the workers that were there XD. And he gets to them and he gets on his knees and does a full apologetic bow. Everyone laughs at him :D And Hotei, with his big daddy/pimp persona does the "Well? Why are you late?" and Ryo-Z flusters like a little kid. Everyone is pissing themselves laughing.
When they finally get to see the cars they're releasing, Ilmari & Pes get into it to see for themselves. They sort of enjoy the car they're in XD I guess they like cars? I UNNO. When Hotei comes to check up on him, they invite him in XD.
Anyhow it ends with the performance they give for the press release or something like that. It's enjoyable and worth the download!
100MB of Rip Slyme vs Hotei goodness
And as a bonus, storyman ripped the Blue Be-bop performance when I didn't know how to, it's small and only 3.8MB. So download it and see it! The live is awesome, Su messing about again, Ilmari being hot and Pes being eternally loved.

Dance Floor Massive II Tour News! - More Mamiya Kyoudai news
Yahoo news has as well posted an article in relation to the Rip Slyme & Mamiya Kyoudai tie-in. Their single & mini album seems to be expected to release in April. And it seems that Fumiya might be sitting this one out - again. His absence seems to be a popular topic among some as Fumiya is pretty much the music man of Rip Slyme.
In other things, I posted a silly entry on my journal about where Fumiya may be. LET US HOPE NONE OF THEM ARE TRUE.

Mamiya Kyoudai news confirmed!
The official site has been updated confirming the juicy bit of news!
Rip Slyme is officially signed on as the ones to do the theme song for this movie. The official site already has a trailer and popular actress Keiko Kitagawa is known to be in it. Look forward to it!

Rip Slyme to write a song for Morita Yoshimitsu's new feature film "Mamiya Brothers"!?
I'll try to get into it more but this seems like pretty new news. It seems that Morita Yoshimitsu (a director) has asked for Rip Slyme to do the theme song for his upcoming feature film "Mamiya Brothers" under his supervision. A new single will released for this (yay!) and a mini album titled "Rip Slyme featuring Mamiya Brothers". Ilmari states "I've written songs but I want to let myself come out" (more or less that's what he says XD)
I'm not meant to be doing this so I'll try to read it fully tomorrow.
Again this isn't completely confirmed and it might just be rumours. But for now we know Rip Slyme's *doing* something!
MTV - Christmas VIP LIVE & Halcali "Twinkle Star"
I have to say this live is fun if you want to gauge the popularity of each member. Ilmari probably takes top spot (one blog describes him as the gorgeous 30 year old) and Pes is a very close second. Ryo-Z & Ilmari however do have a certain charisma. However it's a great performance. If anyone is curious, the Setlist for that performance is:
BLUE BE-BOP
Bright in time
Minutes Maid
VIP SLYME
Tokyo Classic
Hot Chocolate
more & more
Hotter Than July
Joint
Tasogare Surround
Niji
Today
Unmei Kyoudotai
ONE
Rakuen Baby
GALAXY
Masterpiece
Encore
Disco-munication
Christmas Live: Mata Au Hi Made with Su solo and everyone as chorus
Reminding people that Halcali's release "Twinkle Star" is coming up on the 22nd! What's so important about it? Because it's another Ryo-Z & Fumiya OTF release! That's right, Fumiya's been absent but still shows he's still there. If you're familiar with Halcali's releases, this is a lot like their old style (aka Fumiya & Ryo-Z written). Their last release of Tip Taps Tip received a mixed response, whether it was because of it being their only OTF-less single or because of it being mainly a singing dominated song. Nonetheless this song shows the old Halcali style to its finest and Halcali, like Rip Slyme have been dissapearing back and forth through long absences!
Backstage Pass March 2006 - Valentine's Chocolate

The general theme is centered around their "Hot Chocolate" single. Pati Pati's issue asked the members who they would give chocolates to if they were a girl. Ryo-Z immediately says "Koike Teppei! (A singer from WaT), then afterwards Okada Junichi (from V6) & Arashi's Sakurai Shou". Ilmari claims that he wouldn't give any, but Ueto Aya's cute <3. Pes would give it to "Tsumabuki Satoshi" (a drama actor) & Su prefers "Hayami Mokomichi" (another drama actor)
Back onto the B=Pass feature, it talks about certain foods that are related to their photo shoot. Pes prefers m&ms chocolates with Perrier (the bottled water), Ilmari likes a large block of Hersheys with "Sweeeeet" grapefruit juice! Ryo-Z likes Cornflakes, Spam & Beer(!?). Su goes for Marshmallows and Raspberry Juice!
Nonetheless Rip Slyme is in top form this year and everyone hopes for another release this year <3

I kept the file in vob quality (direct DVD) and I think you can see why - this video is awesome. It's a collection of all past performances of Mata Au Hi Made and merged into one fluid live. This song never got a video because it came before the Warner signing (though they did reissue it I believe). This is probably a favourite of many after all. But I just love Pes going nuts at his part. I mean it gives it such a great depth (and might change your total opinion of him? XD) to the performance. I was thinking of compressing it (which I totally suck at by the way) but I couldn't bear to do it. If you've never handled vob files before, grab the VLC media player - it should do the job.

Founding MemberFather is Japanese, Mother is Finnish. The origin of his name was because of his middle name being "Ilmari" in Finland. Went to the same middle school as Ryo-Z, transferred to a Finnish school (or a school with Finnish people?) in Shigaken, and gave up after 2 months. Returning to Tokyo, he entered an international school. This was the same school Ilmari & Su became friends as a Senior & Junior. A Member of Rip Slyme
Alternate names: "Pessy" (peh-see) & PSY (P.S.Y.)
During his schooldays, Ryo-Z forced the name on him saying "You're small and cute so you're Pes!"
As a 2nd year middle school student, he transferred into an international school and met Ilmari who was in the year above him. As a middle schooler, he aimed to become a professional surfer but when surfing with real professionals, he gave up the thought of winning the prizes at that level. Now he enjoys surfing with Su.
He is quite a fan of Gundam and collects Pierce Mobile Suits (I dunno what the hell this is. I spent half an hour looking up on Gundam looking for and easy answer. AND I UNNO. The katakana was Piasu so I can only take it as pierce). He has used Amuro Rei in his lyrics of "Home".
Before his debut, he was a member of EAST END, managed Rock-Tee and worked part time for the shop CRIB with Kick the Can Crew's Kreva.
Since 2005, he's been working with Optimystick (http://www.optimystik.jp/) and has been wearing their clothes for certain lives.
